So...since my last journal was from February, it might be a good time to update it.

I'm looking at Zenza Bronica's these days. I think they're nice cameras. It's just hard to find a decent one for a reasonable price.

Other than that I'm still taking photos, and still visiting foreign countries from time to time to also do so there...so all is well.

In the past couple of weeks I've submitted several images that I'm satisfied with (like my tulip shots and the hood shot) and I've been getting a fair amount of 's and watches (also cause of ^kkart's journals/news items - thanks ). So it's going well.

Then...my wishlist for now:

Nikon Speedlight 400 (my built-in flash stopped working :/)
Macro lens (My Sigma 70-300mm does have a macro switch, but the minimum focus distance is almost a meter if anyone has experience with Sigma macro lenses, please share )
Nikon D90 / D300 (long term plan)

So...I've reached 30.000 pageviews. Thanks to those who've been supporting me throughout the years. People have come and gone, but luckily I'm still "stuck" with watchers I had from the beginning.

Over the years DA did change, though...nowadays people seem to be more fav-/collection-orientated whereas before I would get more comments and a fav only if I got lucky. Nowadays sometimes a photo gets 10 favs, and no comments at all. It seems a bit strange to me, and I'd rather know what people think of it. But ok. I'm still old school I guess...I comment a lot, but hardly ever fav (so feel honoured if I fav-ed ).

Oh and a random question: How does one become a senior member? Does the staff appoint people, or...? This is basically just random curiosity

So, my last journal was fairly old already, so hereby I'm updating.

Nowadays I manage to keep up with my messages pretty well. Let's hope it'll stay that way.

I love my 70-300mm, but I find myself using the macro mode more than the tele abilities. The downside of the macro mode is the distance to the subject, which is about a meter (can also be an advantage, but not always) and the limited DOF. So I'm considering a proper Macro lens, with a fair amount of enlargement. Any recommendations? I might just go for a Sigma one, but they're still fairly expensive.

Just a short journal for now...I'm in Croatia till Sunday.
I've been to National Park Paklenica and it was great, taken a lot of photos there. I hope to submit a bunch here on DA.
